The 14th International F. Scott Fitzgerald Society Conference, June 25-July 1, 2017, will be held in Fitzgerald’s home town, Saint Paul, Minnesota.
This will be the second time the conference will be held in Saint Paul where Fitzgerald was born in 1896, spent his formative years, wrote and performed This Side of Paradise, fell in love with Zelda Sayre and was the birthplace of their daughter, Scottie. Fans and scholars from all over the world will come for this week-long celebration.
The Corban Manor Inn B&B, a newly renovated boutique inn, located in the Cathedral Hill area of Saint Paul is welcoming guests attending this conference that want warm hospitality, a quiet refuge, beautiful accommodations and sumptuous breakfasts. Just one block from the Corban Manor Inn is the famous Commodore Restaurant that once featured a speakeasy in the basement that hosted Fitzgerald often during the years of prohibition. The Commodore has been transformed into a Jazz Era restaurant with 1920’s decor.
There are activities all week for members to attend, capped off on July 1st by a Gatsby Era St. Paul Saints Baseball game. For more information about this event and to register, please visit http://www.fitzgerald2017.org. For more information about the Corban Manor Inn, please visit www.corbanmanorinn.com.

The 2016, 41st Ryder Cup golf championship will be held at Hazeltine National Golf Club, Chaska Minnesota, Sept. 27 through Oct. 2, 2016. As the new owner of Corban Manor Inn Bed and Breakfast. we are offering lodging for those attending the Ryder Cup.
I became curious about the history of the Ryder Cup and found it is a biennial men’s golf competition between teams from Europe and the United States.
Considering the Minnesota’s winter takes chunk out of the eligible months for playing golf, it surprised me that our state ranks 15 out of 50 for the most courses and 14 out of 50 for the most golfers per capita.
Corban Manor Inn is a 38-minute drive to Hazeltine National Golf Club and offers a respite to the crowds near the event. The Inn is nestled among historic mansions in the Summit and Cathedral Hill neighborhoods. Imaging walking one short block from the Inn down a cobble stone street to the trendiest restaurants in St. Paul. We are also located less than a mile to downtown St. Paul and 7th events and live entertainment; and blocks from shopping, restaurants ad entertainment on Grand, Selby and Summit Avenues.
